I really suck at updating our family blog now days. Sorry about that! I am finally able to see light at the end of the 'underwear' tunnel. Finnaaaaaaalllllyyyyyyy!

Here's what the kids have been up to as of late...

I don't know the name of these toys, but they are fantastic.

I've never seen my kids sit still for so long before!

They are sponge animals squeezed into a pill capsule which

dissolves when put into warm water, leaving a fun shaped sponge toy

for the kiddies to play with.

Cuppy Cakes.

Both the boys are different when it comes to eating sweets. London completely demolishes any sort of treat. I'm talking, finishing a popsicle in 4 bites. Whereas Cash will slowly take his time, first eating the frosting, then moving onto the cake part. And with popsicles, London could eat 4 within the time it takes Cash to finish 1.

mud Lunchables, anyone?

April showers brings muddy toddlers.

Snack time gone bad. They took mud pies to a whole new level. It doesn't matter how many times I tell my boys, "Do not play in your sandbox today, it's muddy. If you do, you will have to come right back inside. Do you understand?" Their answers are always the same, "yes, mama." They go outside, play around (eyeballing the sandbox) for a good 15 minutes, each time they get near it, I poke my head out and tell them to GET AWAY FROM THE SANDBOX! They do. But just as I get comfortable, thinking they've listen to me, I look outside to find them sitting in mud, flinging it at each other, and burying their little legs in it. And somehow, one of them always ends up eating it or getting it in their eyes. These are those, "I told you so" moments for me. "Yup, didn't mommy tell you not to play in the sand?" Doh.

Boys and their toys.

They discovered Zoobles....for two days. They came, they saw, mom bought them more to play with, and of course, they have been forgotten. RIP Zoobles. They have not been touched since those two days.

Ah, yes. Robots. The phenomenon. I don't know when or where, but somehow, my boys became obsessed with robots. Below, I ran out of activity ideas one day and helped them make their own robots. Tin foil, empty toilet paper rolls, tape, markers, empty egg carton, and a straw. They had a blast!

Easter weekend.

We spent Saturday at Grandpa and Grandma Salisbury house. They did an Easter egg hunt, dyed eggs, and walked away with some pretty cool toys.

I love Cash's face. Excitement at it's best.

Yep. They are using Walmart bags. We forgot their baskets. Parents of the year!

Grandma Greene's birthday bash.

It was my mom's birthday on the 20th of April. I can't put into words how much I love my mom. She's amazing and I'm lucky to have her as my example. The boys loved blowing out the candles. My mom is incredibly tan, right? She had just gotten home from two weeks in Mexico and 1 week in Mesa, AZ. It's not fair.

Randomness.

And lastly, it wouldn't be a post without some randomness. Below are some new additions to the kids nurseries. Bunting flags are my new favorite decorations.

It's always completely random but every time they do it, my heart melts and I'm reminded of how lucky I am to have twins.....and how lucky they are to have each other.

Yaaaaah, it's been a whole month since I last posted. I thought about posting probably 20 times, but each time I forgot. It's the thought that counts, right!? Wrong.

Here's what we've been up to the last couple of weeks...

- I started working again at my old job (accounting) ~12 hrs a week.

- Working on my clothing biz - Littlest Lucy (I am posting some cute creations on Sunday, so be sure to check out my Littlest Lucy Blog!

- Te has 3 business projects he's been working on. It's pretty funny, we have a schedule set up where we work on opposite days of the week. That way, one of us is always able to hang out with the kids.

- Lucy is 9 months and growing fast. She's clapping, dancing, doing a little bit of baby signing, and learning to cruise around our furniture standing up.

- The boys are learning to speak in full sentences, learning their ABC's, colors and 123's, and obsessing over Zoobles and robots.

- Te and I just barely had a "stay-cation". We went to the Grand America and relaxed for a night. We watched movies, ate room service and did a lot of sleeping. I love me some sleep!

Here are some pictures from March. The boys '2 year pictures' were taken by Jen Herem Photography. Instead of a staged setting, we wanted these pictures to capture our boys doing the things they love at this age. They are growing so fast, I want to be able to remember them at these ages. I think these pictures will do just that. Jen managed to capture everything we wanted and more. I can't say enough good things about her. A+++

Play dates & Playgrounds.

-Play date with the Marriotts-

We recently had a play date with our friends, Molly and Mina. Since they live in Oregon now, when they come into town, we consider ourselves lucky if they can pencil us into their busy schedule. We got to see them a couple hours before they left town and every time we hang out, I wish they would move back. I want Mina and Lucy to grow up together but...until that time comes, we will take what we can get! Love you guys.

Ah yes, the transformer phase. My mom has this habit of getting them a new transformer at least twice a week. That's all fine and dandy except for I never played with transformers growing up, so when the boys ask me to 'transform' them, it is like I'm playing with a rubix cube. I am never able to do it. I've started pointing them in daddy's direction. :-)

Lucy loves being outside and watching the boys play. The dress she's wearing was my most recent project. Took me around 3 hours to make that dress (not the coat), but I did it! No pattern necessary. I'm planning on making many more for the new business I'm starting up. A kid's clothing line! I'm really excited about this, so any free time I get, I have been working on it. I'll post pictures as I go.

My long lost friend has been found.

Apparently, I had looked everywhere BUT inside of their 'big boy potties'. I looked around and under them, two different times.

I was putting Lucy down, who's bedroom shares a wall with our bathroom, and could hear the boys making a mess in my room. I walk into my bedroom only to see them smiling and sitting on their potties. I start to get mad at them because they are supposed to be in their bedroom waiting for me to come read them a bedtime story, instead of making a mess.....when I stop mid-sentence and see my holy grail of all chap sticks just lying there, barely touched and completely unscathed.

I'm embarrassed to admit that a victory dance followed. The boys started laughing and running around with me. It was a good moment.

Last Sunday, the 20th, was Cash and London's 2nd birthday. This year, Te and I decided we wanted to spend an entire day doing things that the boys wanted, instead of throwing a birthday party. The day before our 'fun' day, Cash started showing signs of an oncoming cold. It didn't get bad until the day of his actual birthday. So the Saturday before, did the following:

Early am - Te made them a killer breakfast.

Mid am - Opened presents. (We didn't do a lot of presents. The boys have too many toys as it is, so we told family and friends if they wanted to give a gift, to make it a book. The boys love books.)

Noon - Played outside in the snow.

**Dropped Lucy off at Auntie Rhiannon's house.**

Early afternoon - Took the boys out to SLC for their first train (trax) ride. They LOVE trains.

Late afternoon - They got to run wild at The Discovery Gateway.

Early evening - Went to Build-a-Bear. (longest line ever. I thought Te was going to kill me because I kept insisting we stay)

Dinner - They ate corn dogs. Their absolute favorite food.

That was their birthday. Not bad, huh? Later that night, Te and I went to a birthday dinner for his Aunt Stacey. Great food and great company. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.

On the way home, they were cuddling their bears. Notice London's bear? It's a girl bear. I must have showed him every bear they had, hoping he'd change his mind. Nope, dead set on the Friendship - Peace bear. When he sets his mind on something, there's no stopping him.

Poor Cash got his face shoved into the cake by mean ol' daddy. And to top that off, after eating tons of frosting, he had coughing fit and threw it all up...in front of everyone. I won't show those pictures :-) Very colorful clean-up. That didn't stop Londy pants though. He didn't think twice before going right back to eating his cake.

G-ma Cindy got the boys cowboy hats and made them really cute blankets. They ran around wearing them for hours.

To wrap things up, that cold that Cash had....got our entire family sick the following week. It wasn't just a normal cold either. I'm talking swollen throats, constant runny noses, deep chest coughs, fevers of 100+ and congestion so bad, it caused horrible headaches when not medicated. It's been one whole week and we are still coughing and blowing noses around here. Pretty sure I haven't gotten dressed this entire week. Ouch.

It's been 2 weeks since I last saw my beloved chap stick. Yes, 2 weeks later I am still upset about this. Here's my dilemma:

I love lipstick but I always forget to put it on. I can remember applying chap stick because my lips tend to get chappy whenever the weather suddenly changes, which is a lot these days. I read a blog post about a tinted chap stick from MAC and everyone was raving about it. I ended up ordering it online. (MAC stuff ain't cheap either, ya feel me?) It arrives about a week later and I'm super excited about it. I use it for 2 days, loving every bit of it. Then it happened....

Cash is obsessed with chap stick. Has been for months. He loves walking around and applying to everyone in sight. So one day, I noticed he had reached up and snagged my MAC stick off the bathroom counter. Usually, I would have immediately taken it from him. Usually. I remember I was in the middle of something when I saw him with it and thought to myself, "It has a twist lid, so he can't open it and do any damage. I'll just get it later when he has lost interest." That was upstairs in my bedroom. The next time I saw him, he was downstairs and had also added my brand new, unopened, "on the go" jewelry cleaner to his growing treasure stash. Te had got it for me as a v-day gift to match the jewelry he gave me. Again I thought, "unopened, can't do damage, I'll get it when he's done with it." If I can avoid a toddler tantrum, I will.

And I never saw them again.

Here's the real kicker, I have NEVER lost anything of value before because I always find everything when I clean up later in the day or at night. I make sure to clean up their playrooms every night because I've noticed they play longer when a room is clean compared to messy. It's the "I wanna mess up a clean room" syndrome that kids have.

Anywho, I'm pretty bugged about this. I specifically asked Cash, "Don't lose mommy's lip stick, okay?" And he waddled off murmuring something in his cute little voice. So did he do this on purpose? Did I not give him enough credit to knowingly hide it, thinking it'd be funny? I have looked high and low. In every usual hiding spot of theirs. Even in spots they don't know exist. I've looked in new spots every day for two weeks. I would say he might have thrown it away, but our trash can is located in the pantry, a door that is always closed. I know I could just order another one, but there's a part of me that knows as soon as I do, I will find it.

I need to let it go and just buy a new one already because asking Cash, every day, "Where did you hide mommy's chap stick?" is not going well. He's run off and brought me back everything from a dinosaur that I haven't seen in months to an invisible "item" that he pretended to hand me today. (I admit, it was more cute than annoying)

My parting words....don't underestimate the intelligence of a toddler.

Mommy = 0

Cash = 1

easy as pie.

Mini venting session.

I often ask myself, and my husband, "Why in the world, do toddlers have any reason to throw tantrums?" A diaper change, from poopy to clean? No. A plate of food prepared and served right in front of them? No. How about having a warm bath to sit in and afterwards, get all lathered up with lotion and dressed for an early bedtime? Heck no. Yet they do....all the time. I can feel myself losing my sanity each and every tantrum. I hear myself yell phrases that make no sense, no wonder they look at me confused! I confuse myself sometimes.

After putting the kids down, I find myself laying on my bed, staring at the ceiling and asking myself, "What in the heck happened to the old me?" That easy-going, jokester of a person? Oh, that's right....kids happened. I just wish I would have known that was the last time I was going to see her for awhile, I would have given her a proper goodbye. Seems all I do now is worry. Are they eating enough and sleeping enough? Am I disciplining them correctly? Can I let them play with that or is there a possibility of it harming them? I can feel the gray hairs sneaking up on me.

Anyways, that's the end of my rant. Random rants, yes ma'am. I am beginning to understand the old cat ladies. Cats are easy compared to kids. Easy as pie.

Body paint.

I am working on a little craft project that includes paint and little wooden benches (given to me by my mom) for each of the kids. Once I am done, I'll post pictures. As of now, all that's been painted are little bodies instead.

Love Sac.

I hate this LoveSac. I've been trying to get rid of it for so long now but Te keeps holding onto it for some odd reason. But finally, I've found a good use for it! It doesn't change the fact that I think it's ugly and needs to be given to the dog as a new bed.....but in the meantime, this will do. "That'll do, Donkey. That'll do."

Not my Lucy.

The past couple of weeks, Lucy has been fussy, sleep resistant, and constantly refusing food and bottles (you'd think I would know why this was, having two kids already). I was secretly praying that this wasn't her new, unimproved demeanor. Thankfully, it wasn't. Her two bottom teeth poked through yesterday. My Lucy is slowly coming back to me....phew!

Lucy had to receive 4 shots today. She only started crying on the 3rd and stopped immediately after I picked her up. She's so different from the boys. My little tough cookie. She's gonna need to be tough with who she's growing up next to.

We had some good times in 2010. Here are a few of my favorites...

-Making gingerbread houses-

They liked eating it way more than building it.

-Spare room to Playroom-

We made the kids a playroom out of our spare bedroom. This was their ultimate Christmas present because we even filled it with all new toys and furniture. We went downstairs in the morning and had them open their presents under the tree. Once they were done and the hype was starting to die down, we took them upstairs to see their other present.

Needless to say, they spent the entire day in that room. I think Santa did good. :-)

-Becoming best friends-

Over the past year, we've slowly watched the boys get closer and closer. They do fight but not very often. Every time they do, it's to timeout they go, followed by giving each other a hug and saying sorry. They don't like being apart but love 1-on-1 time with mom or dad. We've even caught them holding hands a couple times. They have fun with each other and we have fun watching them with each other. Its a win-win!

-Our ultimate favorite things about 2010-

Cashus.

1. His ability to make me smile instantly, even when I am completely mad at him.

2. His big brother attitude. He has to have control of every situation when it comes to his brother. "Now you have this sippy cup and I'll have this one."

3. When he says "momma" over and over and over again until I answer him or give him what he wants.

4. How he loves to cuddle at random times throughout the day.

5. He makes the "smack" noise after kisses.

6. He LOVES being tickled by long nails. He completely freezes, drops his jaw and can barely breathe.

7. How he loves talking. He jibber jabbers all day long and talks to us like we know exactly what he's saying. Plus, he will try saying any word we throw at him. He's a total chatterbox.

8. When he doesn't quite know what he wants and you ask him a simple yes/no question, his response will be "no....yes!" And even when you ask him again and again, his response will be the same. Slightly frustrating but incredibly cute.

9. When singing him his nightly lullaby, he will hum along.

10. How he says "What's that?" to almost everything new he sees.

11. How no matter how many times we sing a night night song, he will always ask us to sing it once more.

London.

1. London is his own man. He does what he wants, when he wants, and will not take 'no' for an answer.

2. How he calls his brother "dundon".

3. How after 22 months of sleeping in the same crib, one night he decided he wanted to switch Cash cribs and has went to that crib every night since.

4. He's a leader. He will be the first to come up with any scheme, game, or idea...and his brother will follow along. Sadly, this goes hand in hand with getting in trouble more, too!

5. He has this weird ability to see whenever a pop can, piece of food, or really anything he's not suppose to have, is put within his reach. It's a superpower, really. I am amazed at how fast he can get there.

6. How he can say tons of words but when it comes to 'please', he will always sign it, not say it.

7. All his corky traits. Out of nowhere, I will see him doing the weirdest things. We will make eye contact and he will give me that corky smile of his.

8. He has the funniest crusty face when he gets mad. He squints his eyes and will hold that glare until he's decided that enough time has passed and he's over it.

9. How he sincerely misses his brother whenever he's gone or can't be found.

10. Anytime Lucy starts crying or fussing, he yells at the top of his lungs, "BABY!" We thought at first that he did this because he was annoyed with her, but over time, we've figured out that he actually cares about her wellbeing.

11. He loves babies. Especially little Lucy. Hugs, kisses and plays with her all the time.

Lucy.

1. Her smile.

2. She is incredibly curious. She will snag anything that comes within her reach.

3. Her laugh. She really makes you work for it, but when you get her to laugh, its unlike anything else.

4. How she thinks its funny to annoy her brothers by pulling their hair or grabbing one of the toys they are playing with.

5. She has an amazing death grip. If you attempt to take something away from her that she's not ready to give up, you will have to peel her fingers away from it, one by one.

6. How she loves cuddling with me and her dad. She would prefer to sleep in between us every night if she could.

7. No matter how hungry she is or how little sleep she's got, she will always give you a smile if you smile at her.

8. Ever since she was born, she has had the WORST farts imaginable. 90% of the time, Te and I would change her, assuming she was poopy...oh no, she just has bad gas.

9. She has always been a really calm baby. She will watch me tend to her brothers and wait patiently until its her turn. This attribute is one of the reasons I have kept my sanity.

10. She gets excited about any toy that is given to her. She acts like its the best toy ever, every time.

11. She is my personal sanity. All I have to do is hold and snuggle her and all the craziness of life disappears for those tiny, but perfect, seconds.

My kids are my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am excited to watch them grow in 2011.

I'm incredibly giddy for Christmas this year.

My boys don't know who Santa is. Nor do they have any idea

that presents are going to show up under the tree in a couple days. But one thing they

will experience on Christmas day is complete and utter surprise.

Te and I have been working day and night on their present for

the past week. I have no doubt in my mind that they will LOVE it.

Utah Baby Blog

My friend, Jen Herem, created this blog. It's pretty much awesome. She was nice enough to include me and ask if I would like to contribute to it. Since I love writing and love my kids....'no' just wasn't an option. I'm very excited for this opportunity to share my advice with other moms. So check it out! Hopefully, you will enjoy what we have to say!

This month.

November.

The kids were introduced to a few new things this month.

Some they liked, others they loved, and a few they hated.

One.

Finger paints. Loved. (the paints were cool because they were

clear, but once touched to the specific paper, they changed colors.)

Easy clean up = my style paint.

Two.

Ears pierced. Lucy hated, I loved. Of course, inflicting any sort of pain on my offspring pulls on my heartstrings, but the result is OH SO CUTE. She handled it like a champ too. Only cried for like 30 seconds. She's a tough little cookie, that's for sure.

Three.

Snow. Undecided. London liked being outside, but hated all the getup. He started liking it more once Te showed him how to eat snow. Cash liked it until he fell down and couldn't get back up. I'm sure they will like it more once they go sledding or build a snowman. Right now, they don't really know what to do with it.

Four.

Family movie night. Loved. We decided it'd be fun to let the boys stay up late and enjoy popcorn and root beer while watching a movie with mom and dad. We threw on Shrek 3 and got bundled up in front of the fire. It was pretty much awesome.

The last two pictures are random but they have been added into the

"Mom's Favorite Pictures" folder. Who doesn't love a good cuddle? :-)

Thanksgiving was busy. From house to house to home.

I consider a holiday successful when these three things happen:

1. Kids are good.

2. Company is good.

3. Food is good.

Thanksgiving was 100% successful.

The Lawrence household is officially ready for decking the

halls and trimming some trees. Happy Holidays to everyone!

4 months.

Lucy turned 4 months.....about a month ago. Oops.

That being said, she got her "monthly" stats back! If she continues at the rate she's growing, she will be picking on her brothers before we know it.

Weight: 16 lbs. (85%)

Height: 26 1/2" (97%)

10 Things we love about Lucy:

1. Her smile.

2. Her super cute pouty face.

3. The ongoing obsession she has with watching

her big brothers run circles around her.

4. Her mellow demeanor. She's calm, cool, and collected.

5. The way she lets mommy dress her....3 times a day.

6. The fact that she LOVES all her girly toys. (I thought this

Yo Gabba Gabba

Like many of you, this show haunts my dreams. I find myself singing their songs and dancing when I'm not paying attention. I curse you, Mr. Gabba Gabba...whoever you are.

That being said, we went to their Live Show. Again, I found myself dancing and singing more than my kids...and come to think of it, more than the kids that were sitting in front of us and behind us...hmm...

It was fun though. It was something new to experience with the kiddos. I love watching their expressions and the way their faces light up when they see hundreds of balloons hanging above their head (reference picture # 3). Will we go again? Not until they are a couple years older. At half time, we were doing more chasing than watching. That didn't stop me from buying $15 keychains though! (I was secretly justifying the four $50 tickets I bought)

In the picture above, my camera occasionally does this blur thing. In this case, it turned out kinda cool. It's a keeper for the non-photog type, like myself.

London just might go into shock at the sight of all the balloons over head. Wait for it....okay, he lived. Barely...

The boys love being outside more than anything else. To remember my little munchkins during these times of simple, utter happiness, I took some pictures of them playing out back. They could care less what the weather is or that there is no giant swing sets to climb on. They are just happy with some rocks and dirt. Such boys.

Early Christmas presents.

These Early Rider bikes were supposed to be their Christmas presents. Once they got to the house, Te and I were both too excited to wait. So we let them play with them for a week or so. Since the boys are a half an inch too short, we decided to do a sneak attack and store them away until Christmas morning. Pretty sure they will still be as equally excited to see them then as they were the first time they laid eyes on them. Gotta take advantage of the short term memories that toddlers have!

To sum up this experience, Cash kept trying to sneak a bite, while London kept touching the playdough to his face. Apparently, he liked the texture against his skin. Weird, I know.

Last minute 12 hour drive.

We decided to take a stroll up to the Oregon coast again this year to hang out with the Marriotts. It was a last minute decision, literally 3 days prior to leaving. The boys did AMAZING on the long drive. The Toy Story movie saved our lives. They watched that about 10 times total. The drive ended up a total of 27 hours on the road. Ouch. Lucy was an angel too. But we didn't expect anything less from her since she's always a sweetheart. We went over Halloween and thanks to the Marriotts, had an awesome beach house to crash at. All in all, good times, great friends, and many memories.

For those of you who don't know Molly, she's been a best friend for a very long time. She's the one who introduced me to Te. The one I turn to for a laugh, a cry, to keep a secret, or just to vent to after a stressful day. What's crazy about us is that we were both "surprises" to our parents. Born a week apart. Lucy and Mina were both "surprises" and born a week apart as well. Who says things don't happen for a reason?!

A couple nights ago, Cash woke up around midnight, during mommy and daddy's relaxing time. He insisted on wearing his sunglasses while watching Te play on his ipad. Jen Herem took our family pictures a couple weeks ago. We wanted a family picture that included our little angel, Lucy. Plus, I am seriously sick of the picture we have in our entry way and desperately wanted a new one, preferably a family picture. I was hoping and praying that Jen got a good shot of the family (which I thought was nearly impossible with 2 toddlers and a 4 month old). When we got our pictures back, my prayers were answered. **You will notice the one and only soccer ball that is in almost every picture with the boys. Let's just say they fought over that ball the entire time. Apparently, the bin full of toys I brought wasn't good enough. Since that day, they haven't touched that ball. Go figure.

Te and I went to Hawaii (Kauai) for our 3 year Anniversary. It was the most relaxing vacation we've had since the boys were born. Everything went smoothly with the kids back home which definitely helped us relax.

We had one goal in mind when we landed in Kauai, do as many activities as we can..especially ones that we wouldn't be able to do if we had the kids with us.

Here are a couple of those activities:

We kayaked to a trail and hiked to a "secret" waterfall. Obviously, not so secret anymore now that tourists have access to it. On our trek, we were introduced to "walking trees". (Google that shiz...freaking weird.) They really do walk.

This little nook was a man-made tub. Specifically manufactured for the tribe's princess.

Finally making it to the waterfall. The Wailua River was once limited to only the Ali'i or Royalty. And now, any Tom, Dick or Harry can go! I felt bad the entire time realizing that this used to be a secret. Not enough to turn around though...I wanted me some waterfalls!

Te and I also did some snorkeling and a boat ride around the majority of the Island. The picture above used to be a sacred burial ground. I wouldn't mind be buried on the coast of Hawaii. It was so beautiful. My pictures don't capture a fraction of it.

Let's just say we were fried by the end of the 5 hour boat ride.

Lawrence Family Vacation:

Last week, we spent 7 glorious days in Oceanside, CA. Te's family gets a couple condos the same time every year and we get to hang out as a family while enjoying the beach and making memories. We had so much fun with the boys. This was their first time going to the beach and being able to walk. We were chasing them up and down the beach constantly, but it was worth it to see them smile every time the water hit their feet. I can't wait till next year.

Whitney's Bridal Shower:

Upon returning to Utah, my sister-in-law, Rhiannon, and I threw a bridal shower for our future sister-in-law, Whitney. She's marrying Te's stepbrother, Jason. Her colors are bright blue, black and white. We got our decorating ideas from our friend, Jen Herem. She always has such cute ideas, so we snatched some up! Thanks Jen.

Lucy is truly a sweetheart. She smiles all day long. She hardly ever cries. Two nights ago was the first time she has ever cried in the middle of the night for her feeding. Te and I jumped up completely startled because we thought something was wrong with her. She only fusses when she wants attention. We are so blessed that she is so good. I don't know what I would do if she wasn't. I was already running on empty most of the time with the twins. I am so thankful she is who she is. I LOVE having a girl. We already have girl talk on a daily basis. I tell her how crazy her dad and brothers are...which is VERY often :-)

2 week and 15 month check-ups.

I realized the other day that I never introduced our little girl to our blogger friends. So here's her story...

I had an appointment on Thursday, June 24th, to decide what I wanted to do when it came to my labor process. I hadn't progressed in over 3 weeks. My doctor didn't want to "start" labor since I was planning on doing a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section). He said we didn't want to put any more stress on my body than we had to. Since there was no progression and I was looking at delivering a 9 pound baby and was already after 40 weeks, we decided to do a repeat c-section for a variety of reasons. My main concern was that I wanted the fastest recovery possible, having two 16 month olds at home. I thought VBAC would be the fastest recovery. After discussing it with my doctor, we came to the conclusion that a vaginal birth of a 9 lb. would have a longer recovery process than a repeat c-section. So, that being said, we scheduled the surgery for the next day and had our baby girl around 1pm on Friday.

I know that we confused a lot of people when we announced her name. Everyone thought her name was going to be Liv. But two days before her birth, Te and I were talking and I said that Liv was my second choice and that the name Lucy would be my first...if I had my way. He didn't know that I felt this way, apparently. So being the absolute wonderful person that he is, he said I had full naming rights from that point on. And so a Lucy was born. My great grandma's name was Lucy and my memories of her and her lake house up in Bellingham, WA. were the reasons I wanted to choose this name. My husband chose Lucy's Hawaiian middle name, Nalani, meaning "serenity of the skies". More importantly, it was also his grandma's name. So there you have it.

Cash has recently acquired a new....nightly occurrence. Te and I couldn't figure out what the strange noise was that had been coming from the boy's room the last two nights. No joke, we thought there was either a truck driver hovering over the cribs, breathing heavy...or Darth Vader was in our kid's bedroom. The first night, we failed at trying to figure out what it was by waking up the boys while trying to sneak into their room. It wasn't until the next day, at nap time, that I found out what it was. I put the boys down for their morning nap and started feeding Lucy. About 30 mins into the nap, I looked over at the monitor and it was still showing red dots lighting up, I couldn't believe they were still awake, so I reached over to see if they were playing or crying. This is what I heard...(you might need to turn up your volume all the way to hear this...don't worry, no ghost is going to pop out screaming)

Yesterday was going to be a fun day. Te's karate school was doing a swim party at my parent's pool. I wanted to put the boys down at her house so that I could help out. After the party, we'd swim as a family. Sounds like a good game plan, right? The day started out great. I had a lot to do and had a game plan before I even got out of bed. Here's what the game plan was supposed to be and what really happened.

Wake up at 8am. Get boys fed, dressed and changed. Before their nap at 11am, I needed to pack their nap time stuff. This includes the following: 2 pack'n'plays, 2 crib sheets, 2 blankets to sleep on, 2 blankets to sleep with, and 1 monitor. After that was packed, I needed to pack all their swim stuff ( 2 tees, 2 swimsuits, 2 swim diapers, sunblock, 2 hooded towels, any fun water toys, and two sun hats)

I get this all packed and ready to go. The boys are starting to get cranky now because it's almost nap time and I still need to get them over to my mom's house and set up their stuff. I go out into our garage and realize that I need to put both car seats into the SUV because they had got taken out the night before for car cleaning purposes. I bring both boys into the garage with me (if I didn't do this, they would cry the entire time they were in the house, thinking I had left them). So with the garage door closed, I let them run loose. I put one car seat in the car, grab London and stuff him in. One baby down, one more to go. I pick up the second car seat.....start walking over to the door....when I realize something is moving on the seat.....SUGAR ANTS! I drop the car seat in a panic.......(think Nicole! What to do....what to do) I remember that the other car seat was on top of this one and that my child is sitting in it, in the car. So I run over, rip him out and start brushing him off. All this time, cursing under my breath. I take that car seat out and start shaking them off. I then realize that Cash is sitting on our lawnmower (no, it doesn't have a seat) and pretending to ride it. "Vroom vroooom.." That's the noises he's making. I run over there and take him off, only to find his clothes now have grease on them. Cute.

I bring both boys back into the house and call Te. "Plans have changed. We have a situation on our hands, babe." I tell him the story and he's immediately frustrated because he "told" me to clean those car seats a couple months ago for this reason. Yada Yada Yada. I suck. So since there was stuff (hot dogs and paper plates) I was supposed to bring with me to the pool party, he would need to come home and grab them now. He walks in, stressed out because plans have changed, I'm mad because I've been stressed all morning only to hope for relief from the husband and now he's stressing me out even more. Ugh. The day went very wrong, very fast. I don't see reliability on the resume for parents with multiples. We are the flaky couple.....and that's just the way it will have to be for the next couple of years.

My sister-in-law invited me to attend a Matilda Jane Trunk Show last night. They have the cutest girl clothes I have ever seen. After the baby comes, I think I want to host a show. Would any of you ladies be interested in coming? Here is their website....Matilda Jane

You can only get their clothes through trunk shows or ebay. (At least, those are the only places I've seen their stuff) Anywho, I can't wait for these clothes to get here....hopefully the baby comes before them so I don't feel too ridiculous!

*Baby update for those who've asked: 2 cm dilated; 60% effaced (that was at my Monday appt.) Since this is my first VBAC delivery, I have no idea what is in store or what to expect. My guess is that she'll go full term and then some.

Here are some of the things that make my daily life easier. Month by month, my boys are constantly changing. Attitudes come and go, eating preferences change weekly, and their attention spans for certain toys grow and deplete daily. Let's just say, they are constantly leaving me with the question "What's next?"....

#1.

We recently started having Rosehill Dairy deliver milk, bread and orange juice bi-weekly right to our doorstep. We LOVE the products and the convenience of it. We go through the basics quite quickly at the Lawrence household. This really saves us time and money.

#2.

Since most toddlers develop a sense of independence after 12 months of age, their diets can go from eating everything to eating nothing. My twins are no exception. I like to give them Toddler Enfagrow Formula after some meals to help get those extra vitamins that they sometimes miss. Plus, the vanilla flavored kind is something that I give them right after bath time to keep them in place long enough to lotion and dress them. This is crucial for me since the majority of baths are done by myself. Without this drink, they will fight to the death to get away from me which would leave the other child unattended. Not good for business.

#3.

My sister-in-law introduced me to these goodies. My kids LOVE these. They will even eat spinach and pea flavored ones. That never happened before these. They can hold them and feed themselves. They have a huge variety of different veggies and fruits mixed together. Plus, they are all organic. A great bonus. I order them from Diapers.com (free next day shipping) Thanks Rhiannon!

Being able to pop this thing open and let them watch a quick movie or play a fun touch-screen game....life saver in those moments of tantrum throwing.

They love these toys. They only recently started playing them a lot. They play them everywhere (bathtub included). They were a gift from Molly and Dustin Marriott. Thanks guys. On a side note, if you get headaches easily or annoyed by dinging noises...avoid these at all costs :-)

I am honestly surprised at how much my kids loved these discs. We had no idea that they were actually learning stuff until one day, we were talking about washing our hands...and they both did the sign for "wash hands"...it was the craziest thing ever. From that point on, we use a handful of baby signs. The most important one for us right now is using the sign "More" for when they want more of something. They now use it and can say it too. It's great to know what your kid wants instead of all the pointing and whining. I highly recommend these discs!

Lastly, my kids are all about throwing stuff (blankets and stuffed animals) out of their cribs. Since it was frustrating for me to have to sneak into their room to put blankets back on them, I decided to try something new. Make heavier, bigger blankets. So...I made two two-sided minky blankets for them. The first time I gave it to them, Cash tried to lift his up and throw it over...he failed and I smiled. It was great. Now, they love them and keep them in there always.

I can finally say that I am done with Liv's nursery. Went through bins, did some sorting, hung the pictures and WAAALLAAA! Done.

Before I had a girl, I told myself I would never do a pink nursery since everyone does pink for baby girls. But, when the time came...I fell in love with this crib bedding. Needless to say, pink was all I wanted after two boys.

Last weekend, the Lawrence and Judd Families headed down to St. George for a little fun in the sun. Our activities included the following:

- Sightseeing (we got as far as the lounge chairs in the backyard)

- Exercised (Te went on a lone bike ride one morning, only because he felt the need to use the bikes we lugged down there)

- Met the locals (went to a nearby park and let the kiddies play)

Yeah...so we really did nothing TOO exciting while we were down there, but hey, relaxing was our goal and that's what we accomplished! Special thanks to the Berman Family for letting us stay at their home-away-from-home.

Depoe Bay, Oregon

For Spring Break this year, we decided to take a roadie up to Oregon to visit our friends (The Marriotts) and to have a very relaxing week with our family.

We rented out a beach house in Depoe Bay, OR and prayed for at least one sunny day (we knew what we were getting into with Oregon's Spring weather). Our first two days there were complete downpours. The next two, perfect sunshine. Here are some shots of our afternoon at the beach.

The boys turned one over the weekend on Saturday, Feb. 20th. I still feel like these guys are my babies, no where near "toddlers". Their birthday party was a lot of fun, thanks to our family and friends who joined us to help celebrate.

Cash is our comedian. He's always pulling faces and doing the strangest things. He can stand on his own and walk if assisted with one hand being held. He's nearly in the walking stage! He also likes to pick on his brother and smiles while he does it. He sleeps 12 hours a night and naps perfectly throughout the day.

London is our "into everything" baby. Leave him alone for 20 seconds and he will find something to get his hands into. Out of nowhere, he will just give you a hug and loves to give kisses. He is also on the verge of walking. Unlike his brother, he is the first to rise in the morning and from his naps.

Both babies are learning "baby signing" and love to watch Barney and Yo Gabba Gabba. Within a day, they started playing with cars. Now, they LOVE cars. Pushing them around everywhere.

Te and I were talking the other day about our blog. We realized that we hardly ever update anything about ourselves. Say what?! There's more to life than babies? Hmm...apparently so.

So here's a mini update. Short and sweet.

The Mr.

Te has been very busy the last 6 months or so. He still continues to work for Lexington Law/Progression and does part-time work at the Bobby Lawrence Karate in Centerville. He takes about 1-2 business trips a month. I'm jealous of this. I wish I could go every time.

He also likes to spend his nights teaching himself web design. He has three websites up and going. Once he puts his mind to something, he goes full steam ahead!

Moi

I went back to work part-time (if you could call it that. About 10 hours a week) doing payroll for Greene's Inc. I'm also taking a class up at the U of U. Shakespeare, to be exact. Even though Shakespeare isn't my favorite writer, you have to give the man credit. The guy could write for days. My pregnancy is going smoothly, MUCH easier than the twins. Most days I don't even feel pregnant, but then my round bowling ball stomach brings me back to reality.

The boys are turning one on Saturday, so their update will be coming...

And lastly, the slobber monster. Let's just say, she's been making my days....eventful. She enjoys bringing bark into the house for the boys to suck on. Oh, and every once in a while, she'll be a doll and leave a little poo nugget on her bed in the morning. Did I mention how much I love this dog? No...I didn't. If Te didn't love her so much, I would have found a way to lose her in the open fields behind our house. Oh yes, Vos....you are lucky someone loves you. On a brighter note, we did teach her to stay off the carpet. So, besides all her little flaws, she does listen. Good Vosie girl.

We've been busy here at the Lawrence household. Here's the latest:

The boys are 9 1/2 months:

We finally got a fence and brought Vos to her new home! This was her first time meeting the boys too. Not sure how she feels about their walkers, which occasionally make contact with her ankles...but other than that, she keeps them entertained.

How can you say "no" to that face?

Oh wait....it's easy when it's covered in slobber.

Pretty sure this is what we are getting the boys for Christmas.

And finally, hopping on the band-wagon, our Christmas decor. (Thanks madre!)

One lonely night, I decided to give into my mom's craft obsession and make her happy. It turned out quite classy if I do say so myself.

On a side note, for those of you who don't know, we are excited to announce the arrival of baby #3 next summer. I am just entering my 2nd trimester and everything is golden (if you are trying to do the math, they will be 16 months apart :-). We will find out the gender later this month. Honestly, we aren't hoping for any particular gender, we are just excited to have one.

The boys turned 8 months yesterday. I can't believe they are 4 months away from 1 year. They are both getting more and more unique each day. Here are some fun facts about the boys this month.

Cashus.

This little man is mommy's helper. He's relaxed and easy going. Hence, the reason for my helper! He is really detail-oriented. He can play with the same toy for 10 minutes, while his brother will be bored within seconds. I will watch him touch every last detail on his toys. He loves Baby Einstein and will watch one from beginning to end. Cash also loves to hold his own bottle. He takes twice as long to finish it, but he smiles every time he brings it to and from his mouth. He also makes the funniest faces out of no where. He has really good balance, whether it's standing or sitting. Two things that he ALWAYS does that drives mom and dad crazy? First, while feeding him dinner, he manages to get food all over his face and hair. Never fails. Secondly, he finds it hilarious to splash everywhere during his bath. He's our messy baby, for sure.

I knew from the time he was in my tummy that this boy would be active and he has not disappointed me yet! He's always grabbing, rolling, pulling and eating everything in sight. He loves running in the walker. I'm talking, full on sprint in every direction. He learned how to clap in two days. We showed him how to do it the first day and the second day, we said "clap" and he knew just what we wanted. He loves the bath, especially when we turn on the faucet. He can make a 180 degree turn within seconds to put his hands into that water. He can get into crawling position but has yet to learn how to move his hands and legs together to get him going. I'm scared of that day. He already keeps me on my toes. His energy level is through the roof. I'm pretty sure he gets that from Te.

Together.
Both boys love the baby monitor lights in our bedroom. Since they were super tiny, they were drawn to the "red" lights. Every time Te caught them looking in that direction, he would say "RED LIGHTS!" And now, they think it's a game. Plus, they learned early that by being loud, those lights will jump up. So, we are constantly saying "shhhh, your brother is still sleeping!" It's a fun game we play as a family. They also love bedtime stories and giggle each time the page turns.

They both are saying Mama and Dada but have yet to distinguish who is what. When one baby cries too loudly, the other will follow suit. They love playing in their walkers together. One will run down the hall, stop, wait for his brother to follow, then keep going. They're already best friends and we look forward to seeing them become inseparable.

2 Years and 2 Babies Later.

Te and I went to San Diego for 5 days this past weekend for our 2 year anniversary. We got married on September 20th 2007 and had our babies on February 20th 2009. Therefore, this month, on our anniversary, our boys also turned 7 months. They spent the long weekend with Auntie Kristi and Grandma Cindy. They sent us pictures over the weekend and made us miss our boys that much more. We had a blast in San Diego and pretty much did everything we could in San Diego.

Here's some photos from the trip and other random photos of the boys over the weekend:

I have openly admitted and accepted that I can not survive without my three boys. They are my life and always will be.

To my husband: Te, I love you with all my heart. You are the best father and husband I could ever ask for. Thank you for loving me like you do. Happy 2nd!

To my baby boys: I feel like a part of me is missing when I am away from you both. I can't wait to watch you grow and continue to learn. Happy 7th!

First airplane ride. Need I say more than the title of this post?

We went to Oregon this weekend to spend the holiday with the Marriott's. The plane ride there went.....not so good. One baby screamed the first half, the second baby screamed the second half. Oh the joys of twins. We got to Oregon and had a blast! Thanks Molly and Dustin. On my birthday, Monday, Molly and I took Cash to the BEST fabric store I've ever been to. Plus, no tax....let's just say I was in heaven. The husbands took London to the coast. The day was awesome.....up until, DUN DUN DUN.... the flight home. HOLY SHIZ.

Let me give a little insight into how horrible Cash was (he was my passenger for the flight) At one point, Te heard two different comments. (he was 5 rows behind me, we couldn't sit together because not enough masks drop down)

First comment came from the lady next to Te:

Unknown Lady Passenger: "Wow, your child is an angel compared to that one."

Te: "actually, that one is mine too. They are twins."

Unknown Lady Passenger: "Well, I'm glad you got this one because I don't know what I would do if I was next to that one."

Second comment came from someone behind Te:

Another unknown Passenger: "That kid is screaming like a poltergeist."

Twins are great. But man, I understand now why people don't travel with kids. We will be driving from now on...

So I am officially terrified out of my mind. Why? Let me explain...

I have agreed to sing, in front of an audience, on Friday. This is my first time singing in front of people other than my family and close friends (mostly cassie :-)

We have been practicing a lot but I still have intense butterflies that I can't shake. BLLLAAAAHHHH. Why do I do these things to myself??

I guess, what I'm asking is, wish me luck. Because, trust me, I will need it. I'm pretty sure I will barf on stage...

Baby Boutique '09

My sister and I have decided that since so many of our friends make cute crafts for babies, we'd like to get together and set up a baby boutique. Here are the details:

Date: August 29th (Saturday)

Time: 6:00 - 8:00 (that time is negotiable)

Place: Greene's Residence - 1184 W. Millbridge Lane, West Bountiful UT.

You will have the option to set up your booth inside the pool house or outside under a canopy by the pool. (there is a pool that will be opened. I highly recommend that vendors do not bring their kids. That being said, there are always exceptions. I will write on the invites about the pool and hope that customers who bring their kids, will watch them carefully) If there are any concerns about this, please feel free to email me.

We will set up booths, have refreshments, and sell some products!! Who's in!?!?

Details for Vendors:

All vendors will pay $15 to sell their products at this boutique. The $15 will pay for food along with advertising for this event.
If you want to sell your product, you need to get your $15 to Nicole Lawrence (that's me) or Kristi Judd no later than the 15th of August.
Once the $15 is received, your name and a description of your products will be on all advertising materials; we will provide you with invitations that you can send to friends and family to inform them about the event.
Vendors will be responsible for bringing their own tables/products/advertising pamphlets (for themselves) at the event.

I bought these little glow seahorses on a whim. The boys have loved them since day one. The music is soft and soothing. And the tummies glow a light yellow. So cute. The minute the music starts, they know it's time to sleep. By the time the music has stopped, they are asleep. Great purchase!

The boys turned 5 months this week. Each one is developing differently than the other. Everyone says that all babies grow at their own pace, having twins makes it that much easier to understand just how different babies can be.

London is better at his larger motor skills: rolling over, standing, sitting. Cash is better at his smaller motor skills: talking, grabbing things, and eating solids with a spoon.

They are growing so fast and becoming tons of fun.
